Support Coordination is an important part of your NDIS plan – it allows you to work with a support coordinator to gain the resources and skills needed to access your allocated funds and services.
The role of a support coordinator covers many aspects, such as providing guidance and advice on your NDIS plan, helping you find and connect with suitable service providers, and monitoring the progress of these providers.
Furthermore, support coordinators are trained to assist in identifying new supports that can be included in your plan to better achieve your goals. Through support coordination, individuals can develop greater independence by building the necessary skills they need to understand and use their NDIS plan independently.
This includes teaching people how to establish relationships with providers, manage services delivery tasks, remain engaged with their local community, and build a network of family and friends who can provide additional support.
